Easy Zip Slider Rig

These are the parts you will need for this rig:

1 X Red Zip slider
1 X Rubber shock bead
1 X Gemini Link
1 X 80lb swivel
1 X Hook
1 X 4’ Mono

First you need to take your main line/leader and thread it through the red Zip Slider.

Next, slide on your rubber shock bead.

When the Zip Slider and the shock bead are in place tie your clip to the end of your main line/leader. This ends the main part of the sliding rig.

Depending on what sort of tide or fishing situation you are in, simply select the appropriate lead and attach it to the Zip Slider.

Tie your 4’ of mono to your swivel and attach your hook to the other end making your “Trace”.

You can now attach your trace swivel to your clip at the end of the line to complete your rig.

Whether you are using a 4’ mono 20lb trace with a 2/0 hook on the end for Bass from the beach, or a 6’ 50lb rub trace with a 5/0 hook for Smoothound from the boat this set up will work well.

If you decide to go Mackerel fishing while using this rig you do not have to disassemble everything.

First take the clip off of the Zip Slider and remove the weight.

Then attach one end loop of your mackerel trace to a swivel. And attach the swivel to your rig clip.

Take the other end of the Mackerel trace and push the loop through the lead eye.

And pass the loop over the lead in what I call the dog lead knot.

This should hold the lead securely without cutting off part of your Mackerel trace.

Then you are ready to fish for Mackerel without having to chop your rig apart on the boat/beach. This means that once you have attached your easy slider rig set up at the beginning of the day you will not have to change it!

This lovely 22lb 8oz Smoothound came on board thanks to the Easy Zip Slider Rig.
