Reclaimed Land Hythe
Difficulty Rating: *  Accessibility:****  Variety of Fish:*****  Parking: Pay

Hythe’s reclaimed land is a fantastic fishing spot that fishes well on big high tides. As well as being a multi-species area it is a great place to dig your bait from as long as you don’t mind the mud!

Captures of 6-12 flounders in one session are not uncommon with a lot of the fish cruising over the 2lb mark. I have used a two hook rig with green and black beads in the past and had 3 double hits in one session with ragworm as bait. There are a number of marks to fish from at Hythe Reclaimed Land, as you first go through the red gate you can drop down onto the beach and fish there or after about 500 paces there is a man made concrete block that you can stand on and fish from, or if you like a walk you can head up to the concrete barges and try your luck from them. Most of the beach is the same layout with thick dark mud as a base so it might be advisable to use a light lead or strike the line out of the mud after casting out.
